The idea that ERP was an application that only large, multi-national companies could need/want/afford, is not only an outdated notion, but also, nearly the exact opposite of today's global marketplace. In fact, Forrester Research projects that ERP is now the single largest enterprise application, and that by 2015, the ERP market will surpass the $50 billion mark. To further substantiate this claim, a recent report found in the Business Process Management Journal, written by researchers at the University of Greenwich, stated that "ERP is now considered to be the price of entry for running a [any] business." And Forrester isn't alone in casting these projections.
Gartner analysts, predict that worldwide spending on enterprise application software would exceed $120 Billion in 2012, which constitutes a 4.5% growth when compared to 2011. And with the development and growing popularity of the cloud, IDC predicts that enterprise cloud application revenues will exceed $67 billion by 2016. Simply put, ERP is the single largest enterprise application on the software market, and adoption is only increasing; all the while, successful vendors of such develop and launch even more powerful applications.
With all of the above said, SAP continues to lead the ERP and cloud ERP world, and Navigator continues to lead the SAP reselling market in the USA. In fact, in just the 4th quarter 2012, SAP was double-digit growth in their cloud subscription to the tun of nearly 20%. This combined with a steady increase in on-premise ERP implementations, SAP saw revenues grow by more than 12% in Q4, and shareholders saw their stock price nearly double in 2012. In addition, Navigator grew more than 20% organically in just the past 12 months.
