Cloud ERP Grows at Record Consecutive Level

describe the imageWhile not too surprising, SAP & Navigator annouced that it had achieved its fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth, with software and software-relative service revenue increasing 11% in 2013.

Based on early reports, cloud subscription and support revenue was a strong performer in 2013, increasing at 130%.  Further, SAP's annual cloud revenue now exceeds $1 billion.

HANA, SAP's proprietary in-memory analytics platform revenue also increased 69% to over $500 million, with customers showing strong interest in SAP's entire HANA-powered cloud platform.

"SAP invested significantly in innovation and successfully scaled its cloud business while maintaining operational discipline and reaching our 2013 operating profit outlook," said Werner Brandt, SAP's CFO.  "SAP expanded its non-IFRS operating margin by 140 basis points at constant currencies driven by operational excellence despite the margin impact from acquisitions and our momentum in the cloud."

"Four years of double-digit growth clearly shows that our customer-focused innovation strategy is winning.  We are one of the few global tech companies that has successfully managed the transition to the cloud while growing our core business and improving our profitability at the same time," said Bill McDermott, co-CEO of SAP.  "With the strong momentum of our industry leading HANA platform and SAP Cloud, we bring simplicity to our customers and help them innovate faster."

"We are excited to see the growth of the cloud, and the broad-based adoption of SAP HANA and SAP's cloud portfolio," said Grant Fraser, president and CEO of Navigator.  "As SAP's #1 Global Partner for SAP Cloud, we have seen our cloud-based subscriptions grow at a much faster rate than anticipated.  We are very confident that HANA and the Cloud will continue to dominate the ERP industry."
